Certified Information Security Manager® (CISM)

Cyber Security has been an area that I have been interested in. This grew swiftly in my time Consulting at Sony working with some very talented people and teams across Technology, Security and Information Risk Management. Working on some security focused projects and travelling to the US to support measures to securely overhaul a global, multi-forest/multi-domain active directory structure. I have taken this experience and embedded it in all subsequent organisations.

In summary; to solidify this security knowledge I looked at whether to undertake the CISSP from ISC2 (a more operational cert) or look at the more strategic CISM from ISACA. Given my role I opted for the CISM.

My main resources for researching and ensuring I knew the content across the CISM domains I opted for Kelly Handerhan‘s CISM course on Cybrary. Paired with my historic knowledge this was a perfect mixed to gain a passing grade to become certified.
